The Wake County Animal Center is the community animal shelter operated by Wake County Government that receives all lost, stray, abandoned and surrendered animals from the community. We work in partnership with fosters, volunteers, and local rescues, to treat and rehome thousands of homeless animals every year. Won't you help us to increase the amount of animals that we can save? Please consider joining one of our programs and help these animals find their forever homes.
The center will be here with with animals available for adoption and collecting goods for the creatures!
American Wildlife Refuge
The American Wildlife Refuge mission is to make a place for injured birds of prey and to educate the public about the nature of raptors. Composed of all volunteers, they provide the necessary care to rehabilitate injured raptors and release them back into the wild, and giving permanent refuge to birds that cannot be released,
The refuge is hosting a booth again this year to provide information about birds of prey. They will bring some of the live birds currently at the refuge, including Owls and more.
Midgard Serpents Reptile Rescue rehabilitate and re-home unwanted or sick Reptiles, Amphibians, Turtles and Invertebrates of all kinds to find them forever homes or relocation to proper facilities like refuges and zoo's, as well as providing the community with educational sessions to help not only diminish the fear people associate with these animals but to give others a chance to experience being around these animals, as well.
The rescue is providing an educational exhibit of reptiles and exotic animals as well as educating and talking with the public about proper care and husbandry of these animals as pets. They will also provide a surrender station for people who have reptiles or exotics for which they wish to find new homes.
